Review: Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies

Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies by Laura Stampler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh. My. Gosh! First off thank you to Netgalley for giving me the chance to read Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies. So just yesterday I was complaining about how I keep getting books that I just can't stand, even to the point of dnf-ing at twenty percent, or having to force myself to read it which always bothers me, reading is and always should be something fun, not comparable to doing chores. Anyway, I was unbelievably happy to find that Little Black Dresses, Little White Lies was one of the best books I've ever read in this genre, most of the time I go for a different kind of book mainly because I find these... predictable, but sometimes I'll read one just for fun. And I went in thinking I knew every twist and turn that was gonna happen and when I finished I could just chalk it up to a "fun light read" my suspicions were only confirmed when on her first day of work we met the "mean girl"of the book, so in my mind from that point on there were two options. 1. She fights with the "mean girl" though the whole book ditches her bffs (because don't they always?) but then toward the end she sees the error of her ways and comes out triumphant because she did "right" thing either morally, or just in general. Or options 2. "Mean girl" becomes new bff and in turn she ditches old bff all the while "mean girl" is plotting to screw her over, in this case for teen journalist of the year. So imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to find out it was neither, it was a completely new story and I absolutely adored it. I loved Harper, I always felt like she was trying her best, but some of the things she did towards end really didn't make any sense, and when we found out about her first blog (the one that got her the job) I couldn't believe it, I just sat there staring at my tablet thinking, she's a terrible person! But I got over it and decided that she's still a new favorite of mine. And as for the the secondary characters, I don't know if we saw anybody enough for me to really judge without guessing, even the guy she liked, we know hardly anything about him except for a few details.(view spoiler) But all in all a really good book that I'm glad I got to read. Five stars!!

Review: The Princess in the Opal Mask

The Princess in the Opal Mask The Princess in the Opal Mask by Jenny Lundquist
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I stayed up till 5:30 AM reading this. IT. WAS. THAT. GOOD. I wasn't really crazy about it at first because I really didn't like Wilha, and even by the end of the book she'd barely moved up to meh status, and with Elara it was painfully obvious what was going on with Cordon and baby bitch (her name is not worth knowing) and it bothered me that she didn't see it, but after all that was done it turned she was as smart and tough as I had originally thought, her whole attitude is just like

whereas Wilha's attitude is more like

that really happened.
But in all honesty I didn't "hate" Wilha, she was okay but if it had been about her and only her I probably wouldn't have finished or been as into it as I was, but I think that's what Elara was for, HER story made me keep reading because I just HAD to know what was going to happen to her, I still do, so i'm off to go read the second book. ;D

Review: The Problem with Forever

The Problem with Forever The Problem with Forever by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well I've never rated a book by Mrs. Armentrout less than four stars and today is no exception. The Problem with Forever is gorgeous,(not just the cover!) now I don't think I have EVER called a book gorgeous but I can't think of any other word to describe it, Mallory was the perfect description of human, she was brave and scared at the same time, always wanting to push herself but scared of what would happen if she did, and I don't know about anyone else but I've felt that way a MILLION times before, what would happen if I did this instead of that? Will everyone laugh at me? Will I get in trouble? What if I screw up? Mallory faced all of these things on a daily basis, and because it was so beautifully written I literally danced around like a crazy person every time something went right.

Or went all.

So yeah.

And when things went wrong it was bad. Like really bad

But like any good protagonist she kept going, she pushed and pushed until she became the girl she needed to be to save herself instead of relying on others to always save her, and because of that she was strong enough to help the boy she loved. Speaking of the boy she loved...

No but seriously, why do all the guys in books have to be assholes? Why can't we have more Rider Stark like characters? He was sweet and loving and kind and just perfect. Except for the fact that he wasn't perfect which only made us love him more!?! Heck all the guys in the book were pretty good guys, I mean sure Hector made some crude comments but other then that he was a stand up guy doing a shity job so he could move on to bigger and better things. Sorry it's late, I'm tired, I got off track. To anyone still reading this, READ THE BOOK! You'll love it! I promise.
I had picked a song for the book but I can't remember what it was :'(

Review: Don't Get Caught

Don't Get Caught Don't Get Caught by Kurt Dinan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I liked it. it was very teen movie except for the ending which I think ended more like a Fast & Furious/action movie, (open for a sequel but not necessary) kinda like Ellie said. But otherwise I really liked it, I mean I usually don't read books in the guys pov mostly because their thoughts are gross and or pervy but that only happened a few times. So overall it was pretty good.
